About our client

Zlín Region is the founder of 4 hospitals, namely the T. Bata Regional Hospital, a.s. in Zlín, Uherské Hradiště Hospital, a.s., Kroměříž Hospital, a.s. and Vsetín Hospital, a.s. The hospitals form the basic backbone of inpatient medical facilities and health services provided to the citizens of the entire region.

Krajská Nemocnice T. Bati is one of the largest regional hospitals in the Czech Republic, it employs more than 2400 people at all its departments, it hospitalizes more than 45 thousand patients annually, it has nearly thousand beds available, of which almost 800 for acute care and 200 for follow-up care. Uherské Hradiště Hospital has 613 beds according to the latest statistics and annually manages to provide comprehensive medical care for approximately 25 thousand patients.

The capacity of Kroměříž Hospital is 386 beds, where annually hospitalized approximately 17.5 thousand patients. Vsetín hospital has 344 beds, where the medical staff annually hospitalizes about 14.1 thousand patients and at the same time outpatients treat up to 186 thousand patients per year.

Description of the solution

The main objective of the project was to implement a modern information system PACS, which will extend the existing solution used for processing, display and distribution of medical image documentation.

The delivery included the implementation of the following areas:

Modern web-based DICOM viewer - MARIE WebVision
Dedicated image archive for temporary archiving of incoming and imported image data
Integration PACS to other systems - linking PACS to integration platform
Upgrading of existing PACS archive

Project management
Installation and implementation work
Testing
Training of personnel
Production of complete documentation of the delivered solution

Benefits of the solution

"The project of the central repository of image data has significantly contributed to the acceleration of mutual sharing of examination results between individual hospitals established by the Zlín Region, and thus has refined the diagnostic process for patients, especially in the possibility of comparing findings with other findings made in the past at other departments. At the same time, it saved financial resources by reducing unnecessarily repeated examination procedures."
