Technological core of the system (ORCore)

The new core – ORCore – represents a robust basis on which the whole solution of the ERP OR-SYSTEM Open is built. ORCore enables the operation of OR-SYSTEM Open in a unified system and operational environment. ORCore is independent of third-party suppliers and is resistant to external SW influences. It ensures uniform technology for all modules, a completely identical control system, appearance and communication with data – it unifies the information system. ORCore Builder offers extending the core of ORCore to create individual customer agendas and design of tables, including simple bind. We are prepared to provide the development framework ORCore Developer to our customers or external development teams for use as the basis of their system. OR-SYSTEM Open is continuously tested for compliance with the standards ČSN ISO 9000 and ČSN ISO 14000.

By its individual modules it meets a maximum of requirements of customers from manufacturing and business organizations in various fields of activity, starting with managing the supply and demand process and purchasing the required raw materials, materials, semi-finished and finished products not just for manufacturing but also for the company’s general needs. A highly prized section is the complex area of storing the manufactured or purchased goods, their sale, packaging, marking, traceability, dispatch, etc. The whole lifecycle can be tied to the integrated Workflow. The individual processes are continuously evaluated and, owing to its high parametrization and independence from manufacturing type, the BUSINESS part is intended for use by a wide range of OR-SYSTEM Open customers.

Object configurators are time-tested tools for the effective automation of the processes Business – TPP – Manufacturing – Logistics. The client can choose various alternatives of line or graphic configurators and view for each of them additional texts and detailed images representing the relevant group.  The advantage of the Object Configurator module is its full incorporation into the center of OR-SYSTEM Open.

Engineering and Technology is a very significant part of OR‐SYSTEM Open. It represents a basic set of tools for the work of engineers and technologists. Its modules completely cover the requirements of the standard CAD systems or sophisticated PLM and PDM tools, and its SW enables problem-free cooperation with these specialized engineering tools. As an extensive system of SW support of development and technical production preparation based on the principle of group technologies, it administers data on manufacturing equipment (machines, machine assemblies, workplaces), workers (including professions), business calendars and products. Technical production preparation tracks the history of operation changes; it represents a significant tool of change management according to quality management standards and complies with the requirements of ISO standards for demonstrable documentation.

Manufacturing in OR-SYSTEM Open contains applications for the comprehensive processing of manufacturing for all commodities of discrete manufacturing, from custom to serial manufacturing and their combinations. The applications are seamlessly integrated with data and application logistic and economic environment in OR-SYSTEM Open.  By default, all the manufacturing business processes of conventional production are application-covered in the module.

Moreover, it contains application-commodity oriented specialities, enabling the user to effectively manage the specific, highly competitive user characteristics in the manufacturing process.

The module enables the competent manufacturing workers to effectively plan and organize manufacturing. In an accessible form, it provides information to check the tasks of users and branches and to define correction. The data is available on installed workstations, display panels or mobile devices of various types.

Planning and commissioning for manufacture can take place without restricting conditions or, according to the availability of manufacturing resources – manufacturing equipment, tools, instruments, professions, as well as according to the stocks of materials, raw materials and semi-finished products. The capacity planning process is implemented by own fully integrated group of tasks of the APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) type.

Planning the capacities of manufacturing resources

Manufacturing resource capacities provide excellent tools for production planning with optional consideration of individual manufacturing resources. Capacity planning is provided by own fully integrated tasks of the APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) type.

Capacity balancing creates a queue of operations for individual manufacturing resources (machine, tool, profession, etc.). The queue is created in a way that considers material resources (stocks plus orders of material in transit), and ensures maximum compliance with time and quantity requirements of end users.  Simultaneously, it fills manufacturing capacities in such a way as to ensure maximum utilization of resources and to prevent unnecessary delays.  Where required, sale contracts can be categorized according to priorities.

Information from capacity balancing is used by other OR-SYSTEM Open modules:

Sales – collects information about the performance of sales orders (advances, delays).

Production planning – collects information about the deadlines of manufacturing operations and their sequence with regard to the deadlines of sales contracts  and the use of manufacturing resources.

Purchase – collects information about missing materials that may put the performance of sales contracts under threat.

By default, the presentation of the results of capacity planning is in the form of a Gantt chart. Other presentations are prepared for reporting, desktop, mobile and media workplaces. The content of the presentation is user optional. Graphic flowcharts of products, operations and workplaces, occupation of available capacities by the operations of manufacturing contracts, planning of contracts (both sales and manufacturing) within the deadline or in delay, graphic display of the capacities of individual resources, including occupation by operations of manufacturing contracts.  In the reports, information can be collected e.g. about free and occupied capacities of individual resources, about queues of operations for individual resources and about critical manufacturing resources.

Costing

Costing

Creates source financial (cost and price) information for its cross-sectional use in the entire solution.  With the basic manufacturing schedule, using a flexible costing formula, economic metrics are created for products (final product, assembly, component, semi-finished product), contracts and projects. The data outputs are subsequently integrated in time sections in the processes of price management, storage, work in progress, non-conforming production and sales. Costing by creating price metrics creates pre-requisites for the financial planning of material flows, for evaluating the effectiveness of the whole logistic process and for introducing comprehensive controlling.

In the dynamic world of today, CRM is a very important area, decisive for the success of each business. In terms of functionality, ERP and CRM were often seen in the past as two independent systems.  OR-SYSTEM Open progressively delivers its own data- and application-integrated CRM module. Thanks to our CRM, you can effectively communicate, record, manage, plan, control and improve all interrelated activities at various stages of business relations.

Economics and human resources

Controlling

The Controlling module enables solving standard tasks of performance, responsibility and process orientation of cost controlling. For the solution of detailed cost tracking, ten out of thirty possible dimensions can be used.

Examples of dimensions:

  • Customer, contract, superordinate contract, contract type, account, costing item, contract cash-flow, product, product group and quantity for solving performance orientation tasks.
  • Centre, overhead group and alternative centre for solving responsibility orientation tasks.
  • For process orientation, the user can use, for instance, the dimensions of activity, competent person (worker) or location (workplace, machine).

The system of work with dimensions places emphasis on the minimization of collected data. For this reason, the user collects three or four dimensions at most; other dimensions are generated (automatically added). The basic dimensions include account, division, contract (product). The solution can also comprise full coverage of contract work in progress, including the solution of incurred costs and levies.

The user can define ten own cost views. The basic views can include:

  • Costing – income statement view
  • Contract cash-flow
  • Evaluation of the centre’s management
  • Overview of the contract work in progress

For planning needs, the system enables defining three basic plans for each view, namely preliminary, reconciled and operational (planned, operational, fixed). The planned values can be of a fixed, variable or combined character. The centre plan can be entered manually, taken over prom the preceding period and subsequently modified.

Controlling also enables:

  • Establishing overheads, their restatement according to restatement basis. This function can also be used to assign other values to dimensions. In addition, the system enables the absorption method of cost assignment.
  • For analyses, a system of defining own statements is prepared in addition to standard outputs.

Object configurator

An absolutely unique solution – a universal tool making it easy for users to define any number of properties and values for the object selected (storage card, service, contract) by means of which it is subsequently possible to manage own logic of work with the given object (pricing, TPP creation, production capacity, supply…).


Fully integrated own APS solution

For capacity balance of defined manufacturing resources, an own solution was developed, making it possible to track capacity utilization, optimize the sequence of individual manufacturing operations and check delivery dates for all contracts at any moment of time above the current database.


Implementation and support

Cooperation with each of our customers starts from the very beginning of a system’s implementation; together, we create the Initial Project describing basic enterprise processes and activities and defining their support in the information system.  In the subsequent implementation phase, we cooperate as proposed with key users in implementing the required functionality according to the design mutually agreed. We approach each implementation individually, adjusting our support to the customer’s needs from the project’s onset. Our own team of consultants – field specialists, including experienced project managers, adjusts our own methodology of the system’s implementation, which is regularly modified on the basis of our experience of over a hundred of successfully implemented projects. After the putting the system into live operation, each customer is assigned a consultant – a guarantor, with whom they will, as mutually agreed,  tackle operative requirements and further systematic development of the system, which can be supported by the agreed scope of guaranteed SLA services.  Where required, each of our users will have access to the company’s HelpDesk.
